Robie began watercolor painting in 1998 after she and her
husband, Bill, moved to their cabin on Lake Burton. After
living in Atlanta all of her life, marrying and raising four
children, it was time to retire to the mountains of North
Georgia. Studying drawing under Dianne Mize and then
watercolor she found her passion. Her paintings have been
on the cover of Georgia Mountain Review, Georgia
Mountain Laurel, and An Artful 2008 Calendar published by
Katheryn Granberg. Her painting “Red Canoe” has hung in
the Legislative Offices and now hangs in the Rabun County
Library. She has been an active member of the North
Georgia Arts Guild since 1998. She has studied under
Dianne Mize and now Cynthia Whitney. She has attended
workshops given by Pat Weaver and Tony Couch. Her work
is now located in Artists’ Palette located in Promenade of the
Arts, an artists’ village in Mountain City.
